Hire Developers

Hire DevOps engineers who make releases boring

AMT's DevOps engineers build and run the pipelines, infrastructure and monitoring that let your team ship often without breaking production. They work in AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins and GitHub Actions. Hire one into your team or several, with an AMT technical lead accountable for the quality of their work.

Your first conversation will be with a senior technical partner, not a salesperson.

    What a DevOps engineer does

A DevOps engineer automates how software gets built, tested, released and run. Day to day that means:

    • Building CI/CD pipelines so every change is tested and deployed the same way
    • Defining infrastructure as code so environments can be rebuilt and reviewed
    • Containerising applications with Docker and running them on Kubernetes or managed services
    • Setting up monitoring, logging and alerts, and the runbooks behind them
    • Managing cloud cost, access and security settings
    • Making rollbacks fast and boring

DevOps engineer, SRE, platform engineer or cloud engineer?

Job titles blur. Hire for the problem you have.

For most small and mid-size teams, a DevOps engineer comes first. The other roles come later.

What a good DevOps hire does in the first 30 days

    1. Week 1: map it. How code gets from a laptop to production today, every manual step, every secret, every environment.
    2. Week 2: fix the riskiest step. Usually a manual deploy or a missing rollback.
    3. Week 3: automate the path. One pipeline that builds, tests and deploys the main service.
    4. Week 4: make it visible. Monitoring and alerts on the things that actually wake people up.

Where AMT has done this work

    • A cloud fleet management platform: Docker, Jenkins CI/CD, AWS ECR, SonarQube, automated deployments for 12+ microservices, and malware-scanned file uploads with GuardDuty, EventBridge and Lambda.
    • A global B2B marketplace: Docker, Kubernetes and Jenkins on AWS Elastic Beanstalk, S3 and CloudFront, through a phased migration that kept the business trading.
    • A Playwright QA framework: automated tests wired into Jenkins and GitHub Actions with quality gates before production.

Five questions to ask any DevOps engineer you hire

    1. How do you roll back a bad release? Listen for a tested, automatic path, not "we redeploy the old version by hand".
    2. Where do secrets live? Listen for a secrets manager, never the repository.
    3. When would you not use Kubernetes? A good engineer has an answer. Many systems do not need it yet.
    4. How do you know a deploy worked? Listen for health checks and monitoring, not "nobody complained".
    5. What would you measure first? Listen for the DORA metrics: deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate and time to restore.

    How AMT keeps it accountable

Every AMT DevOps hire has an AMT technical lead behind them, works under ISO 27001:2022 controls, and is covered by the terms on Hire developers.

When a DevOps hire is the wrong choice

    FAQ

What does a DevOps engineer do?

Automates how software is built, tested, released and run: CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, containers, monitoring and cloud operations.

How much does it cost to hire a DevOps engineer from India?

We quote after a technical discovery call, so the price reflects the seniority, cloud skills and overlap hours you actually need.

Should I hire a DevOps engineer or an SRE?

Hire a DevOps engineer when releases are slow, manual or risky. Hire an SRE when the system is already shipping well but reliability is the problem.

Can I hire a remote DevOps engineer who works in my time zone?

AMT engineers work from Bengaluru and Kochi. Overlap hours with your time zone are agreed before they start.

Which clouds do your DevOps engineers work with?

    AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.

    Do I need Kubernetes?

Not always. It pays off at a certain scale and complexity. Many systems run better on managed services until then. See DevOps and cloud engineering.
