Legacy application modernization services, without stopping the business
Application modernization means moving software that still runs the business onto technology that can be maintained, secured and extended. AMT modernises live systems in phases: AngularJS to Angular, Delphi to .NET, .NET Framework to modern .NET, and full platform migrations. Every phase keeps existing features working and is validated before the next one starts.

Why modernise now
Three signs it can no longer wait:
- The framework is out of support. AngularJS support ended on 31 December 2021. .NET 8 and .NET 9 support ends on 10 November 2026. Unsupported software stops getting security fixes.
- Only one or two people understand it. When they leave, the system becomes a risk.
- Every change takes too long. The business asks for something simple and the answer is months.
Support dates for the stacks we work with are on Technologies.
Six ways to modernise, and when each is right
Modernisation is not one thing. Pick the route per system, not per estate.
| Route | What it means | Right when | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Retain | Leave it as it is, for now | It works, is supported and rarely changes | Support end dates |
| Rehost | Move it to new infrastructure unchanged | The problem is the servers, not the code | Moving old problems to a new place |
| Replatform | Upgrade the runtime or framework, keep the design | A supported version exists and the design is sound | Hidden breaking changes |
| Refactor | Restructure code without changing behaviour | The code is hard to change but the logic is right | Scope creep into a rewrite |
| Rebuild in phases | Rewrite layer by layer while the old system runs | The stack is obsolete and the business cannot stop | Running two systems side by side for a while |
| Replace | Move to a product you buy | A product now does what you built | Migrating data and habits |
AMT's honest default: replatform when you can, rebuild in phases when you must, and only rewrite everything at once if the system is small.
Migrations we do
| From | To | Proof |
|---|---|---|
| AngularJS | Angular (current versions, including Angular 21) | Hospitality PMS modernisation |
| Delphi | .NET 10 | Hospitality PMS modernisation |
| .NET Framework | Modern .NET | Our .NET developers do this work daily |
| COBOL | .NET, with AI-assisted analysis | Our article on AI-assisted COBOL to .NET |
| Legacy commerce stack | Multilingual B2B e-commerce and ERP platform | B2B e-commerce and ERP phased migration |
| Legacy databases | PostgreSQL and modern data layers | Hospitality PMS modernisation |
How AMT modernises a live system
- Inventory. What the system does, who uses it, what it connects to, and which features nobody uses any more.
- Pick the route per component. Using the six routes above.
- Plan the phases. Usually front end, back end, data, then retirement of old components. The order depends on dependencies and business risk.
- Prove parity. Regression tests on real workflows, run before and after every phase.
- Move one phase at a time. Each phase is validated before the next starts.
- Retire the old pieces. Old servers, desktop apps and databases are switched off on a plan, not left running forever.

Proof
Hospitality PMS, in progress. An international enterprise software provider's hotel property management system is moving from AngularJS to Angular 21 and from Delphi to .NET 10 in six phases, with feature parity at each step and a planned move to PostgreSQL.
Global B2B marketplace, completed. A wellness marketplace with warehouses in Germany, Singapore and New Zealand moved to a new e-commerce and ERP platform in phases over about six months, while it kept trading. Fulfilment time fell 28% and retention rose 34%.
What drives modernisation cost
We quote after discovery.
| Driver | Lower effort | Higher effort |
|---|---|---|
| Size and age | Small, documented | Large, undocumented, many authors |
| Route | Replatform | Rebuild in phases |
| Integrations | Few | Many, including old protocols |
| Data | Clean, one database | Several databases, data quality issues |
| Downtime allowed | A weekend | None |
