Hire Developers
Hire Node.js developers for backends that hold up in production
AMT's Node.js developers build APIs, real-time services and backend systems, and fix the ones that slow down under load. Node.js is one of AMT's core engineering stacks. Hire one Node.js developer into your team or several, with an AMT technical lead accountable for the quality of what they ship, from Bengaluru or Kochi.

Is your Node.js version still supported?
The Node.js project advises running production only on long-term support (LTS) lines. Status from nodejs.org, checked 9 October 2026:
| Node.js line | Status | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 18 and 20 | End of life | No security fixes. Upgrade before anything else |
| 22 | LTS | Safe for production |
| 24 | LTS | Safe for production, and the line to start new services on |
| 26 | Current | For testing new features, not for production |
The Node.js production check
Eight questions to ask about any Node.js backend before it carries real traffic. If you answer "no" or "not sure" to three or more, that is the first job for whoever you hire.
- Does anything CPU-heavy run on the main thread? Image processing, large JSON transforms or crypto there will block every other request. It belongs in worker threads or a separate service.
- Do unhandled promise rejections crash loudly and get logged? Silent failures are the most common Node.js production bug.
- Does the service shut down gracefully? Open requests and queue messages should finish before a deploy kills the process.
- Are logs structured, with a request ID on every line? Otherwise you cannot trace one user's failure across services.
- Is there rate limiting and input validation on every public endpoint?
- Are dependencies audited automatically? npm packages are the biggest security surface in most Node.js apps.
- Are secrets kept out of the code and the repository?
- Can you see latency, error rate and event loop delay in a dashboard today?

What AMT's Node.js developers work on
- REST and GraphQL APIs
- Real-time services: chat, notifications, live dashboards
- Backends for web and mobile apps
- Integrations with payment, CRM and ERP systems
- Taking over an existing Node.js codebase and stabilising it
- Backends for AI features: tool calling, MCP servers, streaming responses
Stack
| Layer | Tools |
|---|---|
| Runtime and language | Node.js 22 and 24 LTS, TypeScript |
| Frameworks | Express, NestJS, Fastify |
| Data | PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Prisma |
| Messaging | Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS |
| Deploy | Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Lambda, GitHub Actions |
| Testing | Jest, Vitest, Supertest |
| Observability | OpenTelemetry, structured logging |
Node.js or Go?
AMT works in both, so the answer is not a sales pitch.
| Choose Node.js when | Choose Go when |
|---|---|
| The work is mostly I/O: APIs, database calls, real-time messaging | The service is CPU-bound or must handle very high concurrency on little memory |
| Your team already writes JavaScript or TypeScript on the front end | You want a single static binary that is simple to ship and run |
| You need a large package ecosystem for integrations | Predictable latency under load matters more than development speed |
How AMT keeps it accountable
Every AMT Node.js hire has an AMT technical lead behind them, works under ISO 27001 controls, and is covered by the replacement terms on /hire.
