From paper to four connected apps for palm oil, cement and water transport
A Malaysian logistics company moves palm oil, cement and water for mills, refineries and other buyers. Its operations ran on paper. AMT built a fully digital platform of four apps that handles booking, driver assignment, real-time tracking and electronic proof of delivery, and makes consignments harder to steal.

The short version
Paper-based processes meant delays, little tracking and real risk to valuable consignments. Backhauling was hard to coordinate. AMT built one platform with four apps, one for each role in the chain, so jobs are booked, assigned, tracked and signed off digitally. Customers such as mills and refineries can request and follow transport themselves, and either the seller or the buyer can publish a job.
The problem
- Manual, paper-based workflows caused delays
- Limited tracking of trucks and consignments
- Valuable consignments were exposed to theft
- Backhauling was complex to arrange
- The company had limited control over transport workflows, which hurt efficiency and credibility
What AMT built
| App | Who uses it | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Admin | Super admin | Manages subscribers, drivers and customers, with real-time monitoring and role-based permissions |
| Subscriber | Fleet companies and owner-drivers, on web and mobile | Manage their drivers and transport requests |
| Driver | Drivers, on mobile | Accept jobs, request assistance, talk to subscribers and admins in real time, navigate by location |
| Customer | Mills, refineries and other buyers or sellers | Request and track transport, publish jobs as buyer or seller |
Across all four, the platform runs digital order processing, automated driver assignment, real-time tracking and electronic proof of delivery.
Results
- Higher efficiency and better security across logistics operations
- Less paperwork and smoother coordination between everyone involved
- Real-time tracking and role-based access improved accountability
- Lower risk of theft
- Better service reliability and customer satisfaction

Before you build something similar
- Who books the job? Here both sellers and buyers can publish jobs. Settle that rule early because it shapes the whole workflow.
- Fleet companies or owner-drivers? Most commodity transport mixes both. The subscriber app had to serve each.
- What proves delivery? Electronic proof of delivery is where disputes end. Decide what it must capture.
- Can you plan the return load? Backhauling is where margin lives. Give dispatch visibility of empty return trips.
