A white-label last-mile delivery platform with Bluetooth smart locks
A German electric vehicle manufacturer makes cargo vehicles for urban deliveries. It wanted software that independent delivery businesses could run on. AMT built a multi-tenant SaaS platform with a white-label consumer app, a rider app that unlocks cargo boxes over Bluetooth, and a dashboard for each operator.

The short version
The manufacturer sold the vehicles. Delivery businesses needed the software to run on them. AMT built one SaaS platform that many delivery organisations share, each with its own branded consumer app, its own operations dashboard and its own riders. The rider app talks to electronic locks on the cargo boxes over Bluetooth, so opening a box is part of the delivery workflow, not a separate key or code.
The problem
- Disconnected workflows. Consumers, riders and operators needed one connected journey from booking through dispatch to delivery.
- Many independent operators. Each delivery organisation runs its own business, but they all needed to share the same technology.
- Coordination. Assigning riders, scheduling deliveries and planning routes needed digital support.
- Physical meets digital. Cargo boxes fitted with electronic locks had to open and close from the rider's phone over Bluetooth.
- Brand. Each delivery organisation wanted consumers to see its own brand, not the platform's.
What AMT built
White-label consumer app
- Branded per delivery organisation
- Delivery booking and order management
- Order status and delivery tracking
Rider app
- Assigned tasks with pickup and drop-off workflows
- Route guidance and delivery status updates
- Bluetooth control to open and close the smart locks on cargo boxes
Operator web dashboard
- Each organisation manages its own delivery operation independently
- Oversight of orders, riders and deliveries
- Delivery assignment, scheduling and operational visibility
Bluetooth smart lock integration
The rider app pairs with Bluetooth-enabled locks fitted to the cargo boxes. Riders open and close boxes from the app, which ties the physical handover of goods directly to the digital delivery record.
Multi-tenant SaaS foundation
One shared platform serves many tenants. Each delivery operator keeps its data, riders and settings separate, while routing and scheduling help it assign deliveries efficiently.
How AMT owned the product
| Stage | What AMT did |
|---|---|
| Discovery and design | Requirements, user journeys and experience design for consumers, riders and operators |
| Architecture | Multi-tenant architecture, data model, backend services, integration design |
| Engineering | Web dashboards, native iOS and Android apps, backend services and APIs |
| IoT and hardware | Bluetooth connectivity between the rider app and the box locks |
| Testing and release | QA, app releases, production delivery |
| After launch | Ongoing support, corrective maintenance, enhancements |
Results
- Multiple delivery organisations run their businesses independently on a common SaaS platform.
- Each organisation offers consumers a white-label app under its own brand.
- The manufacturer's electric vehicle offering now comes with a complete last-mile fulfilment platform.
Before you build something similar
- Is it one business or many? If other companies will run on your platform, design for multi-tenancy from day one. Retrofitting tenant isolation is expensive.
- What happens when Bluetooth fails? Plan the fallback for a lock that will not pair, before a rider is standing at a door.
- Who owns the brand? White-label apps multiply your release work. Decide how branded builds are produced and published.
- Which data stays per tenant? Riders, customers, pricing and reports usually do. Shared reference data usually does not.
